DIYUN : The State Information & Public Relations Minister Shri C.C.
Singpho has inaugurated a Mahabodhi School at Diyun in Changlang district on January 14
last under the aegis of the Mahabodhi Society Bangalore. Shri C.C. Singpho described the
opening of the school as a historic occasion for the people of Diyun area for the school
will not only impart general education but also spiritual education based on Buddhism. The
Minister also donated 28 acres of land for permanent construction of the school campus.
The school initially started upto class III will be upgrated in the subsequent years. Ven.
Sanghasana Bhikkhu, Founder President of Mahabodhi International Meditation Centre,
Leh-Ladakh described the occasion as auspicious one and requested all to contribute
towards the institution. Ven. Ananda, Secretary of Mahabodhi Society, Bangalore outlined
the aims, objects and functioning of the school. He also assured all help from the
society. Earlier, the Buddha Flag, School Flag and National Flag were unfurled by Ven.
Narinda Bhikkhu, President All Arunachal Pradesh Bhikkhu Sangha, Ven. Sanghasana Bhikkhu
and Sri C.C. Singpho Minister, IPR & P. The Buddha Calendar was also unveiled by Sri
K.G. Singpho, Ex. MLA.
The Function was among others addressed by Ven. Narina Bhikkhu, Ven. Panyarakkhita, Ven. Sangharakkhita. While the function was presided over by SDO Miao Shri R.K. Sharma, Shri Pisi Jowlai Singpho, Secretary General Singpho Development Society offered vote of thanks. Dhamma Desana, Video Show and prayer were other highlights of the function. (
