PASIGHAT April28: Minister for Irrigation & Flood Control, Tako Dabi has expressed concern for the damages caused due to successive floods and said that effective and immediate action for control to check further damages to land and Pasighat township.

The Minister along with officers and public leaders visited the last year's flood ravaged areas viz Boying, Balek and the banks of river Siang. While reviewing the video recordings of the last years floods and the extent of the damages shri Dabi stressed on improvement of existing Bund along the Siang.

The team further visited the Sibo Korong river at Boying village where continuous erosion is threatening the school campus and Pasighat township. Later the team inspected Balek Bridge site where the river is damaging the banks and the threatening the bridge besides the confluence of Sibo-Korong - Siang Rivers.

The minister and party were apprised by the public leaders of the area with the problems face by them and requested the minister for immediate fund for flood protection works.
