CHANGLANG APRIL 21, 2006: The assessment board has estimated damage of over Rs 10 lakhs worth of Govt. properties in the recent natural
catastrophe that occurred on April 12 and 14 last, at Bordumsa  Subdivision of Changlang district .

While the details damages on private properties and live stock were yet to be estimated, the board has estimated damage to SPT M.E. school
building at Goju at Rs 4 lakh , Rs 2.5 lakhs for the MIBT two room  building with CGI sheets roofing at Goju , Rs 50 thousand each for OBT -
Pry School building at Kherem Mura and OBT ME School Vijoypur with CGI  sheet roofing each respectively and Rs 1 lakh for the SPT Medical Sub  Centre at Kherem.

The damages on ST LT electricity line with polls and transformers at  various places besides the damage on houses, granaries cash crops in  horticulture and agriculture sector were also reported from various villages. A board for over all assessment of damages due to the natural calamity
has been constituted and the detailed report is being submitted  accordingly. It may be mentioned here that, the cyclone had taken 6  lives and injured three more persons who are in serious conditions. The  district administration and all other departments are acting in full  swing to restore the normalcy in the area.
