In his inaugural speech the Chief Guest H Matcha, EAC Changlang emphasized on maintenance of the ecological balance amidst drastic scientific development. He stressed on discouraging the deforestation done in mass in the state and appealed the gathering to volunteer for such green saving clubs. Lauding Eco-Club for conducting such training, the Chief Guest urged the gathering to render all possible assistance so as to achieve the basic aim of preserving the ecological biodiversity. He advised the trainee teachers to impart the know how of the training to the younger generation, making them aware of their responsibility in preserving and promoting the environment.
Shri A Osik Principal SIE, who presided over the meeting, also spoke on the occasion.
Changlang DFO C Simai, also the member secretary of the Eco-Club, briefed about the aims and objectives of the Eco Club formation. He informed that the Club has been formed to educate school children about their immediate environment and causes for its deterioration and further mobilize them by instilling in them the spirit of scientific inquiry into environmental problems and involve youngsters in environmental preservation efforts. He disclosed that the resource persons would impart basis training to the teacher in charge of different Eco-Club who in turn would conduct activities in respective schools.
Shri T Ngemu former Minister of Arunachal Pradesh in his speech exhorted the teachers to take full benefit of the training programme. He sought coordination and cooperation from all corners in order to make the green corps programme successful in the district. Changlang DDSE T Morang also spoke on the occasion.
Later certificates of participation were awarded to the trainee teachers.
