PRESS MESSAGE.

A co-ordination meeting on Bird Flu was held in the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner Pasighat which was chaired by Shri Marnya Ete, Deputy Commissioner East Siang District.On13/03/06 Shri Marnya Ete informed that the Govt. has instructed that action plan should be made for prevention & combating the bird flu. He instructed the department to make the list of vulnerable areas, health facilities, vetenery staffs, police personnel’s, paramilitary units, available of transport, Rapid action force etc.

The next programme would be to create awareness among the panchayat leaders so that the awareness may percolate down to the masses .

The vete nary department presented the power point presentation on Bird flu and how to contain them. It was informed that serum samples have been collected from the district and sent for investigation. Till now no positive cases have been reported.

The D.F.O. (Wild life) along with the vet nary & Health department were asked to keep strict surveillance.

The Medical department also presented power point presentation to combat the flu.
