TEZU April 6: Mopin festival was celebrated at Tezu and Jeko village of Sunpura circle on April 05 last with pomp and traditional fervour where people from various sections of society participated enthusiastically. MLA Karikho Kri attended both celebrations as chief guest while Col. A. Gautam, Commandant of 25 Battalion of ITBP, participated as guest of honour at Tezu Mopin programme besides prominent citizens and Lohit Deputy Commissioner P. S. Lokhande. Congratulating the Adi Community members on the occasion ,Kri, who is an enthusiastic supporter of tribal culture, assured his constant support to the cause of promotion of Adi cultural heritage. He also wished deities of Mopin would shower peace, communal harmony, and prosperity to all. Earlier, Dr. Moli Riba, President of Tezu Mopin celebration Committee, in his welcome address, expressed his sense of gratitude to Kri for his support and encouragement for Mopin and Solung celebrations at Tezu. Traditional display of Popir dance, cultural display, and community feast were also organized on the occasion.
