NAHARLAGUN APRIL 4: Governor, Shri S. K. Singh, in a message , has extended his warm greetings and best wishes to the Galo community in particular and the people of the State in general on the auspicious occasion of annual Mopin festival being celebrated on April 5, 2006. In his message, the Governor has stated that "This festival marks the beginning of a new season of cultivation, sowing of rice seeds and offerings of prayer and expression of joy and gratitude to Mopin Goddess. On this festive occasion, the people pray for peace, prosperity, good health, bountiful food grains and blessings for themselves from the Goddess, through performances of various rituals." "Let this Mopin festival like earlier ones; bring greater unity and  harmony among the people of Arunachal Pradesh in particular and the entire Indian nation in general." the Governor has added in his message.
