Governor celebrates Deepawali with ITBP personnel


Along with rest of the country, the Deepawali, the festival of lights was observed at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar. The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig. (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd) along with State’s First Lady Smt Neelam Misra celebrated the auspicious occasion with personnel of Indo Tibetan Border Police and their families. Officers and officials of Raj Bhavan also celebrated with the first couple.

Interacting with the personnel and officials of Raj Bhavan, the Governor and State’s First Lady conveyed their warm greetings and wished that the festival inspires each one of them to rise against all odds and move forward on the path of progress and prosperity. They also enquired about their welfare and families.

Moving away from usual practice and leading with examples, on the advice of the Governor, no fireworks except traditional diyas were used in the celebration to avoid pollution to the pristine natural environment of the Raj Bhavan and the State.
